FreeMind, a mind-mapping tool.

You can tell that I’ve written this review with a different style. I’m only checking out different ways of writing reviews… if you don’t like this one, it probably won’t stay, anyway… I like my personal, everyday talk.

Today I did a lot more reading into blogging, so I’ve only got one review for you. It’s a free, mind-mapping software, or a web, that has a lot more features than basic pen and paper.

Of course it’s much neater, but on top of that it has undo/redo options, a calendar with reminders, “folding,” and a lot more.

Here you can see my web, Buying a House.
As you can see, FreeMind has a very clean interface. It’s much easier to use than it might seem.

For example, I’m going through some of the decision of buying a house. I’ll start off by opening FreeMind, clicking new, and titling the parent node- that’s the oval that you start with- “Buying a House.”

Ok, but that’s not much. Next, I’ll insert a child node, Colors. I’m marking Colors with a question mark for easy reference. Now I’ll give Colors three child nodes: red, blue, and black. I can color them red, blue, and black, too.

There. Colors is finished. Now I’ll move on to the next question, Where. Should I buy a house in Hawaii, Florida, or Chicago? With FreeMind, I can lay out the pros and cons of each location neatly, and make a decision based on facts.

FreeMind has many more features, but it would take too long to mention all of them. Why don’t you try it out yourself?

Download FreeMind at Sourceforge.net. You can also go to the Help Forum, Asked Questions, and Map of Features, which is designed with FreeMind.

Did you like my review? I’ve written more in the reviews category, and I’d appreciate it if you would recommend me with one of the buttons below.
